moringa - the miracle tree of education

‘The Miracle Tree’ Project is now Online! Scroll down to Contact us for more info!

“When a flower does not bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.” – Alexander Den Heijer

But we wondered what if the flower dies?

As we continue to bring policy level changes, systematic transformations, provide support to teachers, we understood that a platform is needed for our children and youth to express themselves, to understand what are their fears? why do they have them? How can they help themselves? Enjoy every learning opportunity without worrying about failures.

This was a drive for us to design a project for children and youth who are facing challenges as they cannot cope up with the expectations the current mainstream system sets on them and thus, become anxious / stressed / pressurised which may lead to dropping out of school / college, breakdowns and suicidal thoughts.

COVID-19 Situation and Changes

Covid-19 – an unexpected crisis has brought in long term challenges for each one of us. moringa too faced the challenge of restructuring its projects to ensure they are functional in this new-normal situation.

We have adapted ‘The Miracle Tree’ project by using online tools so we can reach out to children and youth who are facing anxiety / stress related to education system because of the uncertainties Covid-19 has brought in.

We will keep updating this space as and when we make changes in our projects based on how the situation around us transforms.

The Miracle tree Curriculum

This project is implemented by using story-telling and theatre . We believe ARTS is a powerful medium to make children comfortable and create a safe space for them to open up. There are four main stages in the curriculum as given below. Reach out to us by clicking on Contact us at the end of the page if you wish to know our detailed curriculum.

Knowing your Roots

Where children learn to identify their fears through story telling

Building your Trunk

Where children share their fears with one another through small and large group discussions

Nourishing your Leaves

Where children explore their abilities by conceptualizing a musical using theatre, music, dance and creative art

Celebrating your Fruits

where children after performing the musical, reflect on their journey, their learnings, the joy and sorrows. Children will also decide here how they plan to find joy in their journey ahead whenever they face fears in the future
